Frequently Asked Questions:

Where are your candles made?

We make every single candle by hand in our studio in Newton Poppleford, Sidmouth, Devon. The whole process is done in-house by a husband and wife team.

Are your products suitable for vegans?

All of our soy candles are made with 100% soy wax flakes and either pure essential oils or high grade perfume oils. We don't test on animals and the ingredients we use are also cruelty free.

How long does each candle last for?

Each range is very different. The length of the burn depends as much on the user as it does on the candle and lots of other things in between. For example, our 28ml (1 oz) jars last for between 4 - 6 hours), our 115ml (4 oz) tins last for up to 15 hours and our 280 ml (10 oz) jars last for up to 40 hours. The burn often depends on a number of factors, including the user keeping the wick trimmed to 5 mm. Also, the candle should not be burned for longer than 3 hours at a time.

Are there any instructions on using any of your candles, diffusers or wax melts?

Yes, please refer to the Safety Tips section on the home page. All of these products come with safety labels too. Please make sure you read them if unsure of anything, and if in doubt please e mail us at info@sidvalley.com and we will be happy to assist.

Can I bulk buy candles for a corporate event?

Absolutely! We can supply bespoke candles for corporate events, wedding or as gifts. Please email us at info@sidvalley.com with what you require (types of candles, how many and any personalised names - for example on wedding favours). We need as much notice as possible to be able to produce bulk orders.

Are your soaps and bath bombs handmade?

Yes, all of our products are handmade. However, Sid Valley are not yet making the soaps although we will do in the future. Our soaps come from a reputable supplier and are made to a high standard.

Our soaps are made with the highest quality ingredients, making them vegan too.

With our cold-pressed method, we retain the natural glycerin in our soaps, making them great for sensitive skin. Our melt and pour method soaps are perfect for those who want a more luxurious lather. We do not test our products on animals, ensuring that our products are cruelty-free.
